Beginning of a new retreat cycle

On July 31st a group of eight people entered into the Drubkhang (closed retreat) for a period of 15 months. Under the auspicious presence of the Tulku of Gendün Rinpoche the entering ritual was held. Furthermore we were fortunate that this event was also accompanied by various Drupöns (retreat teachers) and Lamas of our Mandala.

about 2015

As in recent years, we will divide the year into an activity phase and a retreat phase. At the end of February the retreat period of 2014/15 ended and we started with various renovation works. A special emphasis was put on the renovation of the Drubkang, because a group of practitioners went into a closed retreat for fifteen months at the end of July. For this a new thatched fence had to be erected which now slightly enlarge the Drubkang area.
Last winter the heating system in the Drubkang broke down, so a new main boiler was installed. And lastly the meditation hall in the retreat area was repainted.

At the same time the roof of one of the existing retreat houses needed to be redone.

At the beginning of August a new retreat period started for the residents of Marfond who did not enter into the Drubkang. Their retreat will last until March 2016.

Retreat with Lama Walli 2015

During the last two weeks of April, Lama Walli guided another retreat here in Marfond, continuing the transmission of the Ngedön Gyamtso (Mahamudra- The Ocean of True Meaning) by the 9th Karmapa Wangchug Dorje.

During the first week, teaching days were alternated with days dedicated to practice, with both practical meditation instructions as well as time for personal practice. On the last day we had a tsok feast offering.

On the second week practice was emphasized with three individual practice sessions a day. There was also the precious opportunity for all of us to be able to clarify our practice directly with Lama Walli during a daily group interview, which was greatly appreciated.
